About the position
The customs department at GEODIS is a central function with responsibility for the company's customs services. We are also a specialist function that manages permits, certifications and customs processes. As Customs Manager, you are overall responsible for the customs department, our product and services. You will be part of GEODIS’ customs network worldwide and work closely with our business development team, operations and customs colleagues in region Europe.
Your key accountabilities will be:
- Overall responsible for the customs department – full staff responsibility, daily operations, processes, development activities etc.
- Develop and inspire your team.
- Manage financial business result, turnover and KPIs, including profit and loss responsibility.
- Implement and work in line with company processes, policies, and routines.
- Work closelly with Business Development to further expand our customs brokerage business, support in marketing our service portfolio and in customer related questions.
- Stay updated with government-, legal- and customer requirements related to customs.
- Responsible for GEODIS’ AEO-C certification and other customs related authorizations.
- Work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and make sure colleagues and customers are up to date with our customs opportunities and services.
- Acting as a GEODIS ambassador.
This is a permanent position, starting on agreement. You will be located at our HQ in Gothenburg, close to public transport, shops and lunch restaurants. National travels will be required occasionally. Your profile
We are looking for a leader who acts as an ambassador, with passion for developing your team and the business. We believe that you have experience from a leadership position with direct reports and solid competence within the customs field.
Other requirements:
- Professional communication skills, written and spoken, in English and Swedish.
- Knowledge of financial aspects from a business perspective – KPIs, budget etc.
Merits:
- Previous experience from logistics/freight forwarding.
- A post-secondary education within logistics, customs or another relevant field.
- Experience in using the customs system Emma.
